formidable is an interdisciplinary practice working from fascination and urgency, time and place – developing projects on commission and self-initiated, across architecture, public space, research, curatorial and programmatic practice. Projects emerge through experimental, process-based approaches: being on site, exploring, observing, collaborating, and other modes of attentiveness. Outcomes may appear as spatial propositions, temporary interventions, conversations, exhibitions, publications, built structures, or other forms – depending on how a situation unfolds. 

formidable was founded in 2025 by architect, researcher and curator Alexandra Sonnemans, previously co-founder of rotative studio.
